Alan Searing has lived in Hertfordshire all his life and in Hoddesdon for 34 years. He has been happily married for the last 40 years and has three grown-up, married daughters, and two granddaughters.

 Alan has served the community as a trustee for the Dame Letitia Monson Trust (local Almshouses in Broxbourne High Road) for 27 years, the last 21 as Chairman.

 He has been a County Councillor for 11 years and is currently Chairman of the Overview & Scrutiny Committee.

Alan has been in business all his working life and has been a member of the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management for 34 years.
