Peter Ruffles
Welcome to the webpages of Councillor Peter Ruffles, Conservative Party Councillor
Peter Ruffles has special responsibility for the County Council’s work in Scrutinising its work and services.
His greatest value as a Councillor is probably his networking ability and his long experience. These facilities can work for the benefit of the Authority and community and individual residents. He has been an elected member at one level or another for thirty years.
Awarded Membership of the Order of the British Empire for services to Education; he is a churchman, a worker for Victim Support and a Lay Observer of Prisoner Care for the Home Office.
Very much a ‘local member’, he lectures on Hertford history, supports many local organisations, cycles, motorcycles, walks and car-drives. An enthusiast for ‘outdoors’ economies, re-using and re-cycling, public transport. He sees himself as a principled, local boy, all-rounder.
