Steve Holmes

Welcome to the webpages of Councillor Steve Holmes, Conservative Party Councillor

Born in 1951 Steve Holmes has lived for over 30 years in Woodhall Farm. As a youngster he lived in Sweden for four years and completed his secondary education at ‘A’ level in the Midlands. He joined the BBC as an engineer and left to become a presenter for local radio in 1976. A spell as Marketing Manager for Apple Computers whetted his appetite for computer technology and for a number of years Steve ran his own computer retail business in Hemel Old Town.

Steve is the Borough Councillor for the Dacorum Woodhall Ward and is a member of the Development Control Committee, serves on the Social & Economic Prosperity Community Leadership Overview & Scrutiny Committees and a number of Task Groups.

Having joined the Borough Council he found there wasn’t enough joined up working going on between the County Council and the Borough in solving some of the problems. Now elected as County Councillor for the County Hemel Town Division, Steve is able to solve things from both Borough and County points of view.

Steve is married to Linda and has a 19 year old daughter. Politics is a full time job but “If the lights on the M25 aren’t too bright I can also pursue my other hobby of Astronomy, if I have the time” he says.
